The budding relationship between Madonna and Alex Rodriguez has been the talk of both the celebrity gossip and sports worlds since their trysts were revealed to the press in recent weeks. Rodriguez has come under fire for his relationship with the famous singer, with many accusing him of losing focus on playing the game at his best. Rodriguez is estranged from his wife, Cynthia Rodriguez, and Madonna reportedly considering divorcing her husband Guy Ritchie.
It's difficult to say what the actual nature of their relationship is. Other than the fact that Rodriguez has spent many post-game nights at Madonna's Upper West Side apartment, little else is known. The two have denied that they are a couple, saying instead that they are just friends. Few people believe that, however, and the tabloids are flogging the story for all it's worth. It's certainly not helping A-Rod's career. Although he recently hit his 537th home run surpassing the total of famous Yankee Mickey Mantle, he still can't get a break - even from his own fans. Rodriguez, the highest paid baseball player in the world, now has the 13th highest home run total in major league history.
The folks in the stands have been taunting him regularly about his relationship with Madonna - even during the All-Star game, in which he started at third base. Both of them are reportedly very interested in Kaballah, although it's not clear when A-Rod picked up the hobby. Unless the Yankees' record picks up considerably in the next few months, it's likely that Rodriguez is going to continue hearing taunts for a while yet.
