His wife, Cynthia Rodriguez, has alleged that their marriage broke down due to his extramarital affairs and regular partying. Yankees fans aren't too happy with this state of affairs, as he could have been spending a lot of that time on the field. Madonna has repeatedly denied that she was romantically involved with Rodriguez, perhaps because she as well is preparing to divorce her husband Guy Ritchie. She might also be telling the truth, but the level of contact the two have had in recent months seems to make that unlikely.

Sports stars have been getting more involved with Hollywood starlets and singers more often recently, making sports stars subject to the kind of coverage that entertainment celebrities are.
