March 24. That's right. Alex Rodriguez has been through a lot lately and he recently told the press, ". . ."As long as my teammates like me, and they respect me, I've given up on that (past problems) and my two daughters love their daddy, I'm going to go out and do the very best that I can. Look, I really screwed up and for that I'm sorry. I'm just happy to be playing baseball again."
He also talked about the other 103 players on the steroid list. He feels that their names should be keep anonymous. A-Rod filmed a YES interview with Michael Kay that will be aired before the Yankees-Red Sox game 3/24 that is part of a season-preview show. The interview was filmed right before Rodriguez was to have his recent surgery to repair his hip. Kay wanted to clear the interview with A-Rod, who is usually very image-conscious. Rodriguez didn't seem to be bothered with the information like that was in the interview. He no longer seems concerned with it.
He expressed to Kay that he feels that the other players that test positive for performance-enhancing drugs should not be released to the public. Rodriguez told Kay during the interview, "Well, this is about my mistake. You know many nights I fell asleep thinking about who I can blame, and this guy, or that guy. When I woke up I kept coming back to the same person -- it's me. I mean, there's no one else to blame."
(I hope he gets to play ball soon and I hope he rips the cover off the ball - just not against the Cardinals - slim chances, but you never know. You kind of feel for the rich ballplayer. I guess living the "normal" life isn't too bad).
