Talkin' Baseball with Mary on April 22

Hi fans - I just heard the best news about one of my very favorite baseball players.  I am a huge  fan of centerfielder, Jim Edmonds.

Yes, he used to be a wonderful centerfielder for my Cardinals, but I followed him and watched  when he played for our rivals, the Chicago Cubs.  That should tell you how much I like him. He is just one of those centerfielders that is hard to forget about.  He really knows his position and can catch balls out there that seem impossible.

The Cubs didn't resign him this year so I figured he was jusy going to go quietly into baseball retirement.  He just got married recently and they had a baby and I watched an interview with him last year where he talked about wanting to spend time at home with the kids.  One thing I do know is that he won't play for the Cardinals again.  There is some bad blood between him and our manager Tony LaRussa.  Read on and you'll learn more about his plans.

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL -  Centerfielder, Jim Edmonds still wants to play baseball in 2009.  MLB has heard from his agent that he has intensified his workouts and will be ready to play again in about three weeks. I'll keep you updated on what I learn.

LOS ANGELES DODGERS - The Dodgers are one of the many teams that are interested in looking at lefty Mark Mulder. His agent is Gregg Clifton and Clifton said he working out and he will be able to throw 100 pitches for a MLB team in two weeks.  Mulder used to be with the Cardinals - on their bench because he was always injured. We just waited and waited and waited for him to get better.  He will sign with someone and will pitch "like the dickens" for them.  Just wait.

Matt Holiday Wants to Play in NewYork

NEW YORK - Matt Holiday, now with the Oakland A's, is a free agent after this season and he said that he would like to play in New York.  With the all and mighty powerful agent that he has, Scott Boras, he will probably be traded to one of the New York teams right away.  Just wait and see.
