CARDS BEAT INDIANS SATURDAY 3-1

Yes we had a day game Saturday and was it a good one. We beat the Cleveland Indians 3-1. It was the Albert Pujols show again (I'll take a ticket please) - he belted two homers and a double. You know what? He even had flu-like symptoms bothering him. Albert had a raspy voice, but he could still hit and he proved that. Saturday was the third straight game that he has hit a homer. Boy, he's a keeper.
Brad Thompson was on the mound while Lohse's arm still heals. He did a great job pitching six strong innings and only allowed one unearned run. He has even earned the nickname as the "Cardinal's lucky rabbits foot" during this pitcher injury. He's becoming a keeper too.
Chris Carpenter pitches in our game Sunday. It's a Sunday evening game. . Sunday pm games are cool for a team to get. My Cardinals will get lots of exposure. We're only .5 games behind the Brewers now. Keep it going guys!
Here is some news going on with other team. Yes I'm interested.
TORONTO BLUE JAYS - 6/13/09 - ROY HALLADAY
Halladay pitched Friday night. It was the third inning and he was only on his 41st pitch. He stopped pitching and walked off the back of the mound. The manager and trainer went out to see what was going on with their ace. They talked a bit and he tried to throw another pitch and then they took him out of the game. Blue Jay nation was rocked.
They think he just tweaked a groin muscle but didn't want to take a chance with their Cy Young leader. Of course they're concerned that it could turn into something more than just a tweak. Halladay has just had Tommy John surgery and it's day-to-day for him right now. No talk yet of DL.
MILWAUKEE BREWERS - 6/13/09 - DOUG MELVIN
As the July 31 trade deadline approaches, the rumor mills are busy talking about Brewer trades. They are busy talking about possible trades with shortstop J J Hardy, All-Star fielder Corey Hart and slugger Prince Fielder. But it's just baseball gossip.
Brewers GM Doug Melvin says, "I think they assume these things. It's easy enough to pick up and follow a team (and assume their needs)." He's actually keeping quiet and just listening to the talk. The Brewers are happy now with their good, young talent at both the major and minor league levels.
