ALBERT'S BAT IS SMOKIN' HOT!

Chris Carpenter didn't have that good stuff of his Tuesday. San Francisco beat us 6-3. Trouble started early when he allowed two runs in the first inning. He continued to struggle throughout the rest of the five innings he pitched. Of course the 300-game winner was on his game last night. Randy Johnson pitched a great game before he left in the sixth inning. It was a frustrating game for Carp. He said after the game, "I'll be ready to go out again in five days." Cardinal Nation is sure happy to hear that!
It was the Albert Pujols show again for the Cardinals. He hit two home runs, his 29th and 30th this season - the first one was one of his farthest he's hit at Busch. He also achieved another amazing record. With his 30th homer, he is now one of the seven players in baseball history to hit 30 home runs before the end of June. Simply amazing!
New Cardinal Mark DeRosa took himself out of the game in the fourth inning with a left wrist that was bothering him. He said after the game about the wrist, "I have no idea. There are so many small bones and stuff on the wrist. I don't know. But I didn't want to go out and push it and find maybe not being able to play for a little bit." DeRosa will have it looked at on Wednesday. He's still waiting on his first hit, but I'm sure it will be soon. He probably will get it when they are our of town. Less pressure.
We are now two games behind the Brewers. The series with the Giants continues for two more games. Adam Wainwright has the ball for us tonight.
A little more St. Louis news -
Yadier Molina is one of three Molina brothers that are catchers in the majors - Benjie and Jose are the other brothers. They all have World Series rings and Gold Gloves, but there has not been a Molina in the All-Star game. Yet.
Yadie is so close. He's only two days away from being voted into the All-Stars. You still have time to vote for him Cardinal fans. You can vote on-line up to 25 times. It's easy!
It would be so cool to have Yadie as the first Molina brother to be an All-Star. At home too - way cool!

YADIE IS ALL-STAR MATERIAL!
