COOPERSTOWN - 7/27/09 - RICKEY HENDERSON/JIM RICE
Rickey Henderson and Jim Rice were inducted to the Baseball HOF this weekend. Henderson made it because of his history of stealing bases and Rice was inducted because of his abilities as a slugger. They both gave speeches at the induction in front of a crowd of 21,000 baseball fans. Congratulations!
COOPERSTOWN - 7/27/09 - PETE ROSE
Hank Aaron told the reps at Cooperstown this weekend that he thought Pete Rose deserved to to be in the Hall of Fame. He told them, "I would certainly like to see him in. He belongs in, really. His career is one that needs to be right here in the middle of all this." Baseball Commissioner, Bud Selig said that Rose's case is still under review.
TORONTO BLUE JAYS - 7/27/09 - ROY HALLADAY
They are still trying to bring Roy Halladay to the Philadelphia Phillies, but a source told ESPN.com that the talks are "not going well." The Jays still want the same three players - Drabek, Happ and Brown. Jays GM, J.P. Ricciardi, told everyone that he, "isn't explaining his situation to reporters any more." We'll see what we find out and when.
