Jale Peavy, who was traded to the Chicago White Sox last Friday, is now "pain-free." He threw 30 pitches Sunday and had no problems, but the Sox haven't decided on a date to try to bring him back. Peavy was excited out his outing on Sunday and said, "the biggest thing was rverything was pain-free. I threw my pitches, trying to get a feel to accelerate this thing as fast as we can get back out there."

An investigation started during the height of the pennant race in 2008,of the Red Sox
clubhouse for PEDs.of members of their security staff. The police confiscated a vial of steroids. Both men told investigators that they had no firect knowledge of steroid use by the Red Sox, including Ramirez and Ortiz (both tested positive in 2003). What's the beef?
