Talkin' More Baseball with Mary

CINCINNATI REDS - 8/20/09 - JOEY VOTTO
First baseman Joey Votto was taken out of the game in the first inning Wednesday night against the San Francisco Giants because he was having trouble seeing the ball..  Manager Dusty Baker said they will re-evaluate Votto on Thursday.  Baker said, "He came up on a foul ball in the first inning and said he couldn't see.  When a player tells you that an alarm goes off."

BOSTON RED SOX - 8/20/09 - DAVID ORTIZ
Things are seriously settling down for David Ortiz.  After the game Wednesday night against the Blue Jays, there were only six or seven reporters around Ortiz's locker. That has changed drastically since August 8 when the Sox were in New York at Yankee Stadium and
he had a crowd of hundreds of reporters to talk about his steroid story.  Ortiz is even happier now because he hit a home run off off of Holladay in the second inning.  That made the third game in a row of homers for Papi.

SAN DIEGO PADRES - 8/20/09 - KHALIL GRREENE
Khalil Greene was traded back to the San Diego Padres Thursday. It's been a while since he was a Padre.  He missed most of the second half of the season with the Padres because he punched a storage unit at Petco Park.  He was traded to the Cardinals in March, 2009. Greene insists that it won't be a big deal, "I don't know.  I can't invent anything that's not there.  I am sure when I get there it may be a little different being on that side of the field.  But it is what it is." Good luck!
