ST. LOUIS CARDINALS - SPRING TRAINING UPDATE
2/28/10.  Our Cardinals signed Felipe Lopez to a contract Saturday and he arrived over the weekend to work out with his new team at camp.  He lives in the Orlando area, so it was a short trip for him.  He didn't want to "waste more time at home."

John Mozeliak said one of the reasons he liked Lopez was his flexibility as a player.  He can play ever position other than that of the pitcher and catcher.  He's also a switch hitter.  That will definitely help the Cardinals' bench.  Lopez is excited about being back in a Cardinals' uniform, "I knew who I wanted to play for.  This has been my choice since I played here back in '08.  It's a great organization. . ."

NEW YORK YANKEES - POSADA SAYS NO TO RETIREMENT NOW
2/28/10.  The Yankee's catcher, Jorge Posada says, "To tell you the truth, they will have to rip (the uniform) off me" and has no immediate plans to retire.  That's the way catchers should be - tough.

He is now 38-years-old but still wants to play the game - they probably love to hear this in the Big Apple.  He also said over the weekend about retiring, "I am going to make it tough, that's the way I was brought up.  I don't want to go away.  I'm having having fun and enjoy playing."
