ST. LOUIS CARDINALS - RYAN TO RETURN NEXT MONDAY 3/19/10. Shortstop Brendan Ryan, will return to Spring Training games against the Astros next Monday. He's still progressing in his rehabbing ahead of schedule from his wrist surgery that was at the beginning of February. He is already taking regular batting practice. Ryan had his eyes on returning at Saturday's game against the Mets, but the club thinks it will be good for him to rest a couple more days. He still has his sights on being back in time for Opening Day against the Cincinnati Reds and they are taking it day-by-day on that. Keep your fingers crossed for Ryan now that we're into the last two weeks of Spring Training. 3/20/10. Ryan played on March 20 - just like he wanted. He did great. He was 2-3 with a single and a double and was "flawless" in the field and he even stole a base. Yea! Yes this writer is a huge Brendan Ryan fan! TEXAS RANGERS - HUNTER OUT WITH STRAIN 3/19/10. Pitcher, Tommy Hunter, suffered a left oblique strain and they say it will be doubtful that he will be ready when the season opens. He had the injury during pre-game warm-ups on Thursday. TORONTO BLUE JAYS - MORROW SORE SHOULDER 3/19/10. Pitcher, Brandon Morrow, has been scratched form the roster due to a sore right shoulder. The Blue Jays say that it is not serious and that they are just doing this as a precautionary measure. So far this spring Morrow has pitched five innings and allowed four earned runs and six hits. Last year he pitched for the Mariners and had a 4.39 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP. WASHINGHTON NATIONALS - STRASBURG MEETING SET 3/29/10. The latest on the phenom, Stephen Strasburg, was reported Friday.
